How it works

A plan built around your dog

1

One to one sessions

Every dog is different, training is built around you and your dog's specific needs. This is not a generic course.

2

6+ months of support

The goal is always fast, genuine progress, not a slow process. Support continues for at least 6 months regardless, so you're never left to handle it alone once training ends.

3

Real world proof

Progress is tracked with real world training videos, not promises. If you don't see meaningful improvement, you will get your money back.

Programmes built around the problem

Reactivity

Structured, one to one reactivity training

For dogs that bark, lunge, or panic at the sight of triggers such as other dogs, people or vehicles. Sessions are built around what's driving the reaction, not a generic script.

Stay consistent, follow your home work, see significant improvement, or your money back.

1

Full assessment

In person, before we touch a lead, so we understand exactly what's driving it.

2

One to one sessions

Built around your dog specifically, working through the reaction step by step.

3

Ongoing support

A set period of support once training itself has finished, so you're not left on your own.

Aggression

Serious cases, handled with a clear process

For dogs that have bitten, or shown aggression toward people or other dogs. This is treated as its own thing, built specifically around your dog's history and what's driving it.

Stay consistent, follow your home work, see significant improvement, or your money back.

What clients say

Google Review
★★★★★ 5.0

“Mason is a knowledgeable dog trainer. I adopted a German shepherd female that was very reactive and he helped me build her confidence in being around other dogs and people. She is a lot calmer and he taught me ways to help make her feel safe. I can trust her with people now and a little support with other dogs too. I would have been lost with out him.”

About

Why Rove exists

I didn't start out training family pets. Before going out on my own, I spent years immersed in intensive training under some of the best in the field.

This isn't about small changes. I feed zero treats in a day, and still walk dogs off lead, calmly, for miles at a time: real control, built on trust and motivation.

I take on dogs many trainers steer clear of or write off, because I've spent years working with dogs where getting it wrong mattered. It's grown from a number of successful rehabilitation cases I took on independently, where I was able to work with dogs in my own way and see what is possible with the right approach. It's about clear communication, proactive handling, and a relationship built on clear guidance and trust.

That's the whole point: a personal, hands on service for the dogs that are being given up on.

If you're looking for a trainer who takes the time to understand you and your dog, not judge, tells you the truth, and sees it through to the end, get in touch. Along the way, you'll build a better understanding of how to communicate with your dog, and a stronger relationship with them because of it.

FAQ

Questions people ask before getting in touch

Is my dog too far gone?

No. Dogs that seem the most extreme on paper are the ones with the most room to improve, that's exactly what the guarantee is there for. Do not feel ashamed, let's get this done so you can move forward with confidence.

What happens first?

Every programme starts with an in person full assessment, so training is built around you and your dog, rather than a generic script. We will have a good idea of realistic expectations from this moment.

How many sessions will I need?

Each programme includes a minimum number of sessions necessary to do a thorough job, however, extra sessions and training is always provided where needed in accordance with our guarantee.

What if it doesn't work?

Progress is tracked with real world progress videos (for board and train) and training scenarios, not just promises. If you don't see meaningful improvement, you get your money back.

Where do you cover?

We have a training field in York, and I cover the wider North East and Yorkshire area.

Are you insured?

Yes, fully covered with public liability insurance.

Do you run group sessions or pack walks?

Not at the moment, but coming soon! Everything is currently one to one or boarding, under focused programmes.
